Validating Informal Transversal Skills of young workers in seasonal tourism?
The VALITS project is a 2-year Erasmus+ EU Project that is addressing the problem of seasonal workers who are in the cycle of high economic activity during the high season followed by unemployment in the off-season. Many of these workers possess informal transversal skills that would give them the potential to find more permanent jobs, but strong focus on formal qualifications and experience from employers at present means these transversal skills and informal competences are not made visible yet.
The VALITS Project will first research, identify and analyse informal transversal skills and competences of young seasonal workers in tourism and then develop a Validation Tool for certifying and recognising these skills. Our aim is to make transversal skills and competences of seasonal workers visible and us these to enable them to be mobile into other careers or professions.
